CNN.com - Madonna breaks bones in riding accident - Aug 16, 2005

Why the hell is this news? First off, people get hurt all the time. However, very few people a year seem to get hurt riding horses, according to the statitics below. I hate the fact that people are actually making a living by telling me that a washed up, eccentric singer fell off her horse at 'her country home outside London'.

Granted, she broke her collarbone, 3 ribs, and a hand. As bad as that is, I know at least 3 other people who have had similar injuries, and they were not even on the local news. And guess what? The world kept on turning even though no one reading this had any idea Susan, Dave, and Chris all wore those neck stabilizing collars for 4 months each. Imagine that!

Yes, I'm aware large numbers of people love Madonna (aka 'Esther', thanks to Kabbalah). Thats fine, I welcome their right to do so. However, I cannot see how it is important enough to be mentioned several time on CNN's 'Situation Room', and then popping up again as I'm writing this (HOURS after it aired originally, mind you) as a news break.

- WTF, Yo?

*Key Equine Injury Statistics for 2002:

-No horse riders were killed as a result of an accident involving ridden horses on the roads.
-The number of horse riders involved in accidents has fallen each year since 1999.
-23 people were seriously injured whilst riding a horse.
-143 horse riders were injured in total.

CNN.com - Rapper P. Diddy becomes just Diddy - RAP/HIP-HOP MUSIC - MSNBC.com

I hate rappers, for the most part. There are a few out there that I do respect as rather intelligent or respectable people.

Well, Sean never was on that short list, and today proves why.

If you were unaware, this morning the artist formerly known as P. Diddy WENT ON THE TODAY SHOW to announce that he was dropping the "P." and becoming just 'Diddy'... because, and this is a direct quote: “the P was getting in between us.”, and by 'us' he meant himself and his fans.

If a single consonant and a punctuation mark prevents you from making a connection with you fan base, you or that fan base is retarded. Scratch that, you are both retarded, because you actually chose to cater to such a dumb group of people.

CNN.com - Dean: GOP will make immigrants 'scapegoats' in 2006 - Aug 6, 2005

Ok, I really thought people were smarter than this. Granted, everyone has a cause, but why has Rep. Tom Tancredo [R-Colorado] 'drawn the ire of Hispanic groups in calling for tougher immigration enforcement'? Remember, he's not trying to introduce laws.... he's under fire for trying to better enforce laws that were democratically voted on.

And in one of the bravest things said by any government officals lately, Ahh-nold (the Governator) applauded the Minutemen who volunteered to patrol the borders in southern Arizona and showed INS how to do the job they were hired to do. Of course, he was instantly chastized for speaking the truth by Howard Dean, who apparently feels that addressing border security by enforcing laws that are presently unenforced is 'scapegoating' illegal immigrants.

Perhaps someone should email Mr. Dean the following definition:

Main Entry: il·le·gal
Pronunciation: (")i(l)-'lE-g&l
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle French or Medieval Latin; Middle French illegal, from Medieval Latin illegalis, from Latin in- + legalis legal
: not according to or authorized by law : UNLAWFUL, ILLICIT;
also : not sanctioned by official rules (as of a game)
